Welcome to CLImate Change Impact Assessment (CLICIA) Group!

Assessment of the impact of future climate change on society and the environment is of fundamental importance for planning and management. Such an assessment often requires local-scale climate information. Global Climate Models (GCMs) usually do not provide accurate information at local scale. Downscaling methods have therefore been developed to bridge the gap between resolutions of GCMs and climate impact models. The CLImate Change Impact Assessment (CLICIA) group at the Beijing Normal University was founded by Prof. Shuiqing Yin in 2020. The group is developing downscaling methods and daily/sub-daily weather generators for the climate/climate change impact assessment on the soil erosion, urban waterlog, heat wave, and snow quality for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Game.
