Historic rainfall erosivity over mainland China for different climate states

Rainfall erosivity factor (R factor) is one of basic factors in the empirical soil erosion models, such as Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), the Revised USLE (RUSLE, RUSLE2) and Chinese Soil Loss Equation (CSLE), to represent the potential ability of rainfall and runoff to affect soil erosion. Maps of rainfall erosivity are indispensable for soil erosion assessment for they can provide rainfall erosivity information for sites with observations and without observations.

The datasets consist of: (1) annual average rainfall erosivity (R-factor), the 24 half-month R-factor ratio and the 1-in-10-year event EI30 maps for mainland China during 1951-2018; (2) the R-factor and the 24 half-month R-factor ratio maps for mainland China during five climatic periods including 1951-1980, 1961-1990, 1971-2000, 1981-2010 and 1991-2020, respectively.

The datasets were produced mainly by daily and hourly rainfall data from more than 2000 meteorological stations and validated by 1-min data from 62 stations. Values at stations were interpolated to 1 km-resolution with Universal Kriging method first, and then resampled to 0.01°×0.01° grids with the bilinear interpolation.

中国大陆地区降雨侵蚀力空间分布图

降雨侵蚀力因子(R因子)是众多经验土壤侵蚀模型,包括通用土壤流失方程(USLE)及其修订版(RUSLE, RUSLE2),中国土壤流失方程(CSLE)等的基本输入因子之一,反映降雨和径流对土壤侵蚀的潜在影响作用。降雨侵蚀力空间分布图既能提供有观测站点位置的侵蚀力信息,也能通过空间插值提供无观测站点区域的侵蚀力信息,为基于土壤侵蚀模型进行区域土壤侵蚀评估提供重要基础。

数据集包含:(1)中国大陆地区1951-2018年多年平均年降雨侵蚀力(R因子)、24个半月降雨侵蚀力比例以及十年一遇次EI30空间分布图;(2)5个气候态(包括1951-1980年,1961-1990年,1971-2000年,1981-2010年,1991-2020年)多年平均年降雨侵蚀力以及24个半月降雨侵蚀力比例空间分布图。

数据集主要由2000多个气象站逐日和逐时降水数据生成,经62个气象站逐分钟数据验证。站点降雨侵蚀力值首先通过泛克里金(UK)方法插值到1 km网格,再由双线性内插生成0.01°×0.01°网格数据。
